Wraps a LogLayer instance to satisfy the Mantle Logger interface.
Merges the current RequestContext into withMetadata() on every call.
child(bindings) closes over merged bindings rather than using LogLayer’s own
child() (whose semantics differ) — bindings are folded into every withMetadata call.
